Paragliding School on the Isle of Wight

High Adventure is a fully registered British Paragliding and Hang gliding Association (BHPA) school. We were the first UK school to teach paragliding in the late 80s and many of the teaching techniques used by other schools today, were developed by us.

We have a team of five dedicated instructors who teach paragliding to all levels. Each instructor has a wealth of experience to offer new pilots and all are qualified and licensed by the British Hang-gliding and Paragliding Association (BHPA).

The Isle of Wight is on the South Coast - a short ferry ride across the Solent and within easy reach of London (1.5 - 2 hours) and the home counties. The narrow strip of water that surrounds the Island acts as a buffer against the fast running tide of mainland hustle and bustle. The pace of life is slower but the flying activity is intense!

More flyable days

Being in the "deep South", the Island often escapes the worst effects of low pressure systems and has a large number of flyable days for paragliding tuition. Regular summer sea-breezes provide smooth flying conditions that are essential for rapid and easy learning of basic paragliding skills. Couple this with access to over eight flying sites which cater for all wind directions and the advantages of this lovely island become clear. See our Weather Page for more information.
